The little one stood not far away, grinning and making faces at Wen Ge, then covering their mouth and laughing quietly. When being led away by their aunt, they even turned their back and made a victory sign with their fingers.

I also want to go to school... Wen Ge clutched the wooden edge of the window, her nails turning slightly blue from the force. Her eyes were rimmed red again and again, yet in the end, she did not let a single tear fall.

Wen Ge stared at his hand for a while; his fingers were long and fair, extending straight out right before her eyes. She hesitated for a moment, and seeing that he was still patiently waiting for her, she finally reached out her hand and slowly placed it into his palm.

Wen Ge nodded somewhat awkwardly, her heartbeat suddenly becoming erratic, adding a touch of tension. She licked her dry lips and replied earnestly: "Hello, I am Wen Ge"

Thinking that Aunt Biao should have gone far by now, she carefully pushed open the window and looked out—there was a pitch-black sedan parked at the door

Wen Ge seemed to sense something, her heart racing rapidly. She pushed open the window, standing on tiptoe to look outside, just in time to catch a glimpse of the last little milk candy, tilting its head and regarding her with a puzzled expression.

His hand was warm and dry, completely enveloping her hand with just one palm

Footsteps echoed outside, sometimes distant, sometimes near, accompanied by the crying of a girl who was still grumpy from waking up. Thus began a morning. Before long, my aunt fed the little one breakfast and sent her off to school. Just as she walked out of the hallway, she caught sight of the girl standing by the window, her brow slightly furrowed, and she released the little one to walk towards her.

Wen Ge glanced at him somewhat shyly and timidly asked, "Are you... are you here to find me?"

This commotion did not last long, and soon the outside fell silent.

Wen Shaoyuan smiled subtly, straightened up a bit, and extended his hand towards her: "Hello, I am Wen Shaoyuan"

The morning fog envelops the sky and obscures the sun. It is akin to her current gloomy mood, gradually consuming and shrouding her.

Wen Ge propped himself up on the bed, listened quietly for a moment, then quietly got dressed and jumped out of bed. He walked to the window, pushed it open, and looked outside through the rusty and mottled security bars.

Wen Ge rolled over in bed, still somewhat hazy in consciousness

His gaze resembled the layered distant mountains, looking at her from a short distance, both distant and tranquil

She was lost in thought when she suddenly heard the sound of a car engine coming from outside, a dull and muffled noise

Wen Shaoyuan slightly furrowed his brows, released his fingers, and traced along her hand to grasp her wrist. Her palm was icy cold, and her wrist was as slender as a twig

The scene in the early morning is shrouded in thick fog. The air is heavy and cold, imbued with dampness, as if it were trying to penetrate to the very bones.

Close the window, I am afraid others will know that my family has an extra mouth that is useless and only knows how to eat... Her hand reached in through the security window, and with a few pushes, she closed the window, still cursing: "Just looking at it makes me annoyed..."

The warning in her eyes was indeed obvious; only after Wen Ge reached out to close the window did she turn back.

The car window was rolled down, and the people inside were saying something that was not clear. Suddenly, my aunt turned around and glanced at Wenge, noticing the window was half open, and shot her a fierce glare, her voice suddenly rising: "Close the window, it's so cold outside, what if you catch a cold?"

Her parents sacrificed their lives three months ago, and her grandmother, who had raised her since childhood, could not endure the news and passed away within a week. She has no relatives and, after several attempts, finally managed to contact her not very close cousin and his wife, who eventually took her in.

I saw Wen Shaoyuan standing next to the car door

Not long after, there was a faint sound of a car door. Then, within her limited field of vision, a short-haired woman, exuding an air of vigor, was striding swiftly towards the house

Then she turned her head

A thick fog has risen, obscuring the view of the distance, with only the faint outlines of the adjacent buildings visible. Pedestrians are already moving about in the alley, and occasionally, the sharp sound of bicycle bells rings out, clanging like a gust of wind, swiftly drifting away into the distance

Behind me was my slow-moving aunt, her mouth opening and closing as if she were cursing.

Listening to the song, I looked out through the gap left by the slightly ajar window. It is already winter, and the air is desolate and chilly. Everything in sight is enveloped in a layer of coldness, shimmering with a white, frosty sheen

Before she could see clearly, she noticed her aunt pulling little Naiting back, standing beside the car door with a look of surprise and caution.

The old residential area is tranquil and peaceful

She curled up and stared blankly at the white mist outside the window. Through a door, the sounds that were originally only faintly audible gradually became clearer. She lay on the bed, feeling the warmth of the blanket being slowly devoured by the cold air, making her teeth chatter from the chill

He gazed at her with a solemn expression, his voice lowered, enunciating each word clearly: "Yes, I came to find you"

He then stepped forward, walking a few paces to the window, looking down at her from a height. Seemingly finding it inconvenient to speak from this distance, he bent slightly at the waist to meet her gaze: "Is your name Wen Ge?"
